Emergency Ride Home Program

The Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program provides commuters in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties that carpool, vanpool, ride transit, bike, or walk, three or more days a week with six free taxi cab vouchers a year to use in the event of an unexpected emergency or unscheduled overtime.

Who can participate?
In order to be eligible, commuters must carpool, vanpool, ride transit, bicycle, or walk to work at least three days a week.

What is an emergency situation?
Eligible "emergency" situations include:

  • Illness of the commuter or a member of his/her immediate family
  • Unscheduled overtime or extended work hours
  • A carpool/vanpool driver's inability to make the scheduled trip home due to an unexpected work schedule or illness

Personal errands, pre-planned appointments/meetings, business related travel, weather related events, transit system delays or suspensions of service, or personal vehicle malfunctions.  Using a voucher for a non-qualified reason is considered a violation and may result in immediate termination from the program for up to one (1) year.


How do I register?
Sign up right now or call Customer Service at 1-800-234-RIDE and a representative will assist you. If you qualify, you will have the option to access your vouchers using the SFCS ERH Online Voucher System or receive hard copy paper vouchers.
