On the Broward College South Campus, if you are a student who carpools at least 2 days a week, you can register to park in the preferential carpool parking spaces scattered across campus. It only takes 3 steps to register your carpool:

  • Find a carpool partner through us or on your own.
  • Register your carpool by filling out this form.
  • Take advantage of all the benefits of carpooling, including saving money on gas and other expenses, making friends, and preferential parking.

Take the Train to School

So rather than fighting traffic on I-95, take the Tri-Rail from one of its 18 conveniently located stations and stop at the Cypress Creek Station. From there, take Broward County Transit Route 60 to the Broward College North Campus.

Take the Broward County Bus to School

Thinking about improving your health, saving money, and helping out the environment? Riding your bike to the Broward College North Campus is a great alternative to driving alone. You can easily use conveniently located bike racks to secure your bicycle while you’re there.  + Read More +

Don’t want to ride the whole way? Bicycles are allowed on all transit systems in South Florida. Each transit operator has their own set of guidelines, so be sure to check them out before bringing your bike.

Emergency Ride Home

The Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program provides up to six free taxi rides home for registered students, faculty, or staff in case of emergency or unscheduled overtime.  + Read More +

Who can participate?

The program is available to students, faculty, or staff who get to school by carpooling, riding the bus, taking the train, bicycling, or walking to campus at least two (for students) or three (for faculty or staff) days a week.

When can I use the Emergency Ride Home program?

The ERH program can be used in the event of an unexpected emergency or unscheduled overtime 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Think of it as "commuter insurance."

Eligible "emergency" situations include:

  • Illness of the commuter or a member of his-her immediate family
  • Unscheduled overtime or extended work hours
  • A carpool driver's inability to make the scheduled trip home due to an unexpected work schedule or illness

Each registered ERH program participant is allowed up to six free emergency rides per year. A qualified voucher must be given to the taxi company to utilize the service. This does not include gratuity for the taxi driver.

Low Emission Vehicle Preferential Parking

As part of Broward College South’s commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness, Low Emitting Vehicle preferential parking can be found on campus for students and faculty that have vehicles meeting the criteria designated by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle Inherently Low Emission (ILEV) or Hybrid vehicles certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.  + Read More +

If you drive a vehicle that meets these standards, you can register with Broward College’s transportation partner, South Florida Commuter Services (SFCS) to receive an LEV Decal. This decal, in addition to your Broward College Parking Decal, will allow you to utilize any of the LEV preferential parking spaces around campus.
