CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH BIKE RACK INITIATIVE

 

bike rackYou may have noticed new bicycle parking in West Palm Beach.  As part of a bike initiative, the City of West Palm Beach has installed convenient bike parking – racks and lockers – throughout the downtown area and Northwood Village.  The increased availability of bike parking encourages the use of bicycles assisting the City’s efforts to decrease traffic congestion, reduce the environmental impact of motor vehicles and support healthy lifestyles.

The Bicycle Rack Initiative includes initial installation of bike racks and lockers, the Ride and Play Program and the Request a Rack Program.

 

 

BICYCLE LOCKER RENTALSBike Locker

 

Pedal to downtown West Palm Beach and get guaranteed, inside bicycle parking.

 

The City of West Palm Beach Transportation Management Initiative (TMI) announces the installation of bicycle lockers at the City’s Banyan Parking Garage at Banyan Blvd. and Olive Ave.  Bicycle lockers offer inside, secure, covered parking with room to store one bicycle and some bicycle equipment.  Bicycle locker rentals are available for rental for a six month period for a non-refundable deposit of $20.

REQUEST A RACK PROGRAMoffice building

Businesses, office buildings and residential buildings without adequate bicycle parkingmay request a bike rack and installation.  Bicycle racks are installed at the request of citizens and business or property owners.  Before requesting a bicycle rack, please review the Bicycle Rack Placement requirements and considerations.  Click here. 

 

After reviewing the bicycle rack location criteria to determine if the rack location may qualify for the program, businesses, properties and organizations will request a free bicycle rack by completing the on-line request form.  After a request is received and evaluated, those sites deemed suitable for inspection will be given and on-site evaluation.  If the location is approved, it will be added to the city’s next order for installation.
