What is the Emergency Ride Home (ERH) Program ? - Read More
The Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program provides commuters in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, and Saint Lucie Counties that carpool, vanpool, ride transit, bike, or walk, three or more days a week with six free taxi cab vouchers a year to use in the event of an unexpected emergency or unscheduled overtime.

How many vouchers will I receive? - Read More
You will be provided six (6) ERH vouchers per year. A year is defined as 365 days from the date of your enrollment/renewal into the program. Participants that utilize the ERH online voucher system will have access to all six of their vouchers at once. Participants that receive SFCS pre-printed vouchers will receive two vouchers at a time
What is a qualified emergency? - Read More
Emergencies are defined as circumstances which require you to leave your place of employment during the workday due to an illness or urgent situation, your carpool or vanpool driver must unexpectedly leave due to an illness or urgent situation, or you are required to work unscheduled overtime.
There are other common situations which do not qualify as an emergency under the ERH program. These include personal errands, pre-planned appointments/meetings, business related travel, weather related events, transit system delays or suspensions of service, or personal vehicle malfunctions. Using a voucher for a non-qualified reason is considered a violation and may result in immediate termination from the program for up to one (1) year.
There are other common situations which do not qualify as an emergency under the ERH program. South Florida Vanpools which are registered with South Florida Commuter Services can utilize the ERH program in the event that the vanpool breaks down. If all members of the vanpool are going to the same location then the group is only required to use one (1) voucher. However, if the members of the group are going to separate locations, each member must use their own voucher.
Where can I be picked-up? - Read More
You will only be picked-up from the work address on your SFCS profile. It is your responsibility to keep your information updated. You will not be able to utilize your voucher for an ERH trip if you request a ride from another location.
How do I arrange a taxi cab ride in the event of an unexpected emergency? - Read More
You must call SFCS at 1-800-234-RIDE (7433) at the time of your emergency. You must also have a valid ERH voucher. SFCS will contact one of their contracted taxi cab provides to pick you up from the work address on your SFCS profile
If I participate in the ERH Online Voucher System do I still call SFCS to arrange for a taxi cab ride? - Read More
Yes. Whether you are using vouchers printed from your SFCS personal profile or SFCS pre-printed vouchers, you will need to call SFCS at 1-800-234-RIDE to arrange a taxi cab ride.
What do I use as payment for the taxi cab ride? - Read More
You will provide your ERH voucher to the taxi cab driver as payment (gratuity is not included with the voucher). Taxi cab drivers will not accept photocopies, facsimiles, or expired vouchers. If you do not have a valid ERH voucher available for payment at the time of your ride, you will be responsible for payment of your ride. Participants will not be reimbursed for services provided.
What happens if I do not have a voucher on hand and I have an emergency? - Read More
If you are registered to utilize the ERH online system, you can log in to your SFCS personal profile and print a voucher at the time of your emergency. Online vouchers are only valid for the date printed on the voucher.
If you have chosen to receive SFCS pre-printed paper vouchers, you must have a voucher available at the time you schedule the trip. If you have access to the internet at the time of your emergency, you can contact an SFCS Customer Service Representative and they can enroll you in the ERH online voucher system. This will allow you to have immediate access to your online SFCS personal profile where you can access an unused voucher.
Vouchers will not be faxed to you at the time of your emergency.

You have the option to decide whether you want to participate in the ERH online voucher system or receive SFCS pre-printed paper vouchers. Simply notify SFCS that you wish to receive SFCS pre-printed paper vouchers and they will mailed to the home address in your profile.
What if I currently receive paper vouchers but I want to participate in the ERH Online Voucher System? - Read More
You can enroll in the ERH online voucher system at anytime. Simply notify SFCS that you wish to participate and they will set-up your online SFCS personal profile which will allow you to access your ERH vouchers online.
What if I have SFCS pre-printed paper vouchers that have not expired but want to participate in the ERH Online Voucher System? - Read More
Any SFCS pre-printed paper vouchers you have are still valid until the printed expiration date. If you enroll in the online system, you will also be able to access your unused/unprinted vouchers through your SFCS personal profile.
What if I no longer wish to participate in the ERH Online Voucher System? - Read More
You can opt-out of the ERH online voucher system at anytime. Simply notify SFCS that you do not wish to participate and they will modify your profile to receive SFCS pre-printed paper vouchers.
What happens if I print a voucher from my SFCS personal profile and I do not use it? - Read More
You will need to contact an SFCS Customer Service Representative at 1-800-234-RIDE (7433) to assist you.
How do I renew my ERH registration? - Read More
You will receive a renewal notice from SFCS one month prior to your ERH registration expiration. If you are registered in the ERH online voucher system, you will receive a notice on your personal profile as well. To renew your registration you can renew your registration online, return the renewal notice via fax, or contact a Customer Service Representative at 1-800-234-RIDE (7433).

SFCS provides a rideshare matching service to commuters in the region. This service matches individuals that have expressed an interest in carpooling or vanpooling to work. SFCS uses your home address, work address, and work hours to find others who live and work near you that you could share the ride with.
If you are able to view these options then you have indicated to SFCS that you are interested in participating in our matching program. If you no longer wish to participate in our matching program, please select the “active” link in the upper left of your profile. This will change your status to “inactive” and remove you from the matching program.
If you are unable to view these options but you are interested in participating in the SFCS matching program, please click on the “inactive” link in the upper left of your profile screen. This will change your status to “active” which will allow you to participate in the matching program.
If you are able to view these options then you have indicated to SFCS that you are interested in participating in our matching program.
