95 Express Lanes General Information
The 95 Express Lanes Project has impacted South Florida commuters and employers since the opening of the lanes in December 2008. This corridor serves as a vital transportation link and carries an average of 250,000 to 300,000 vehicles per day in the tri-county area. This project converted the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane to two limited access toll lanes referred to currently as the 95 Express Lanes. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) funded this effort to provide new and enhanced mobility options for motorists and transit users in the region. Currently the 95 Express Lanes are available to southbound users from Miami Gardens Drive / NE 183th Street to S.R. 836 and to northbound users from S.R. 836 to NW 151st Street.
Anyone with a Sunpass transponder or mini can use the lanes by paying a toll. Tolls fluctuate based on the level of congestion. Hybrid vehicles, 3+ carpools, South Florida Vanpools, Express buses, and motorcycles can use the lanes toll-free. For more information, please visit www.95express.com.
