Boca Raton Elementary for the past 3 years has worked with the Florida Department of Transportation’s SchoolPool program to create a carpool program for parents and students interested in carpooling. The program has partnered with the school once again to address pedestrian concerns for the students at Boca Raton Elementary.

We’re creating walk and bike groups to provide a safe environment for the students. School administrators and traffic safety representatives came together and selected areas within our community to have the students meet in a central location and walk or bike safely to school with each other. The routes are consistent with crossing guard locations, frequently walk/bike areas, and student residences. The groups will consist of two shifts Green and White.

Registration

Each parent who has a child walking or biking is encouraged to participate by registering with the SchoolPool program. After registering each student will receive a Commuter License. The Commuter License is an identification tag that is attached to each student’s backpack to identify how they get to and from school. This license will also be good for periodic incentives.

Parents are encouraged to participate in walking with the students by volunteering. Just add your name to the registration form as a volunteer and receive your own license, to ensure safety.
