In 2009, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six in partnership with the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) began a reconstruction project of the S.R. 826 (Palmetto Expressway) and S.R. 836 (Dolphin Expressway) Interchange. Work includes widening both S.R. 826 and S.R. 836 and the construction of a four-level interchange that will include direct ramps to provide movements in all directions between the highways.
The project area is defined as: West Boundary (NW 87th Avenue), East Boundary (NW 57th Avenue), South Boundary (SW 8th Street), & North Boundary (NW 25th Street). CLICK HERE to view a map of the construction zone including impacted areas.
In an effort to assist impacted commuters using the 826/836 interchange, South Florida Commuter Services (SFCS) has created an incentive program to reward and motivate commuters to use alternative modes of transportation. In order to qualify for incentives, your route to work must travel through the 826/836 incentive zone. Use our 826/836 INTERACTIVE MAP to determine if your route to work travels through the incentive zone. Simply enter your home and work addresses and click the Show Route button. In addition, the map will provide you with information on potential carpool partners and current/future construction activities.
