826/836 Carpool Incentive Program
A carpool is when two or more people ride together in the same vehicle to commute to work. All registered carpool groups that qualify for the 826/836 incentive plan will receive a monthly incentive, per carpooler through January 2013.
- 2 Person Carpools Receive $25.00 Ea
- 3 Person Carpools Receive $50.00 Ea
- 4 Person Carpools Receive $75.00 Ea
- Incentives will be provided in the form of Visa Cards.
- Each carpool group must complete an 826-836 Incentive Program Registration Form with South Florida Commuter Services.
- Once your registration has been verified and approved, you will receive a confirmation email or letter in the mail (within 7 business days) stating that you are enrolled to receive incentives.
- Your incentive startup date will be outlined in your confirmation email or letter. Carpool participants will not be eligible to receive incentives prior to the date specified on their confirmation notification.
- Participants will also receive an 826/836 Incentive Carpool Calendar. Each carpooler must complete their calendar on a monthly basis. Calendars can be submitted:
- Online using your SFCS Online Personal Profile or
- Fax a hard-copy calendar to (954)731-7319 or
- Email to sfcs826@1800234ride.com
If the carpool calendar is not filled out by each person in the carpool and provided to SFCS monthly by the 5th of the following month, the incentives will not be provided to the carpool group for that corresponding month.
- Calendars submitted by each participating carpooler must correspond with the groups carpool activity. If records do not match, the carpool incentive could be reduced or not provided at all. For example, in Carpool #1 – Amy, Jane and Gerry carpooled Mon, Wed, Thu, and Fri. of the first week but Amy’s calendar noted that she carpooled Tues, Thurs, and Fri. – this is a mismatched record and now may only count as a two person carpool since all data is not the same.
- Carpoolers receive their level of incentive based on the number of participants that carpool 16 days or more per month.
- SFCS will send incentives to the mailing address provided for each participant in the carpool.
Incentives are distributed to commuters on a quarterly basis.

Carpools must meet the criteria established for the 826/836 incentive program. Carpool groups must consist of at least two members living in different households. If a carpool group has more than one member from the same household, only one member in the carpool group will receive the incentive. Example: Carpooler A, Carpooler B, and Carpooler C share the ride to work. Carpooler A and Carpooler B live in the same household. This carpool will only be considered as a two person carpool and is only eligible to receive up to $25.00 a month for Carpooler A and Carpooler C. Carpools cannot have an origin and destination within the incentive zone.
In order to participate in the 826/836 incentive program, commuter employment locations must consist of a business/commercial address, a registered business phone number and employ more than one employee. SFCS has the right to verify employment for any commuter submitting a registration or participating in the program. At any time, if a participant is unable to verify their employment or their employment location does not meet the above stated criteria, the registration may be denied or the commuter can be terminated from the program.SFCS also has the right to request verification of additional information including participants’ alternative mode.
At any time, if a participant’s information is unable to be verified, the registration may be denied or the commuter terminated from the program.Participants are required to provide the vehicle make, model, and license plate information for any vehicle that is used by a carpool; if they are a rider in the carpool, SFCS will only need their home/work and contact information. If you receive a new vehicle or license/registration information, you must contact SFCS to update the information on file to avoid being removed from the incentive program.
Participants must submit their carpool calendar monthly. If the calendar is not filled out by each person in the carpool and provided to SFCS by the 5th of the following month, the incentives will not be provided to the carpool group for that corresponding month.
